I Love Gravy and the Biscuits
Yep, they’re lip synching. Who cares. I love everything about this band right now. Who doesn’t love gravy and biscuits?
Name: Gravy and the Biscuits
EP title: Soul Food
Instruments:Â Cardboard cut outs
Lead singer:Â Has long hair and is wearing fake wayfarers
Oh, the irony…
I wasn’t expecting much from this laundry list of clichés, but I was pleasantly surprised.  In fact, having known nothing about this band before seeing their name, it was the gimmick that drew me in.  The lead singer has an eerily smooth voice and a catchy flow. If Taylor Kitsch was a singer, he’d sound like this guy. The other guy can actually carry a tune and the other other guy keeps the rhythm steady. These guys are on their way.
Apparently they hail from Omaha but are currently students at Belmont University in Tennessee. Rumor has it, CUAB, is trying to get them to head down to the Carolinas this year.
I would be very interested in seeing them live. Â Has anyone seen them?

Steve Jobs: 1955 - 2011
I can’t even get into this right now. RIP Steve Jobs, there will never be another.

This is likely my favorite Steve Jobs moment. What an inspiration, what a visionary, what a loss.
Watching “Angus” on my way back from Boston. I haven’t seen this movie in years.
My absolute favorite part is his interview for Jefferson:
“When a small abnormal element is forced into a larger normal system the element will either be rejected or destroyed…
…But it doesn’t have to be that way. If the element is brave. If the element can hold out long enough and face the torment of the system until the systems energy is depleted. If the element can look the system in the eye and say ‘I’m still here asshole’ then the system will have to change. Adapt. Mutate. And if this happens it would prove my f@#%ing point. There is no normal.”
NYC is allowing free things to happen…this really is the end of days.
This is bananas. In addition to mandatory evacuations today and shutting down all public transportation tomorrow at noon, they’re allowing free subway rides out of evacuation zones, shutting down both airports, and they’re waiving toll fees for all bridges leading out of the city.
Irene, you are really putting us in a tizzy.
